Summer Skin Tips

IJust as your clothing changes with the season so should your skincare routine, why? Well, it is to make sure that you are treating your skin the very best you can. With temperature changes, sun exposure levels and other environmental stressors, they all add up to affecting your skin in different ways. So, protecting it is key!

Summer skincare routines should be focused purely on hydration and sun protection. With SPF being vital key as the sun is stronger and with the end of lockdown coming, you are more likely to be spending a large amount of time outside.

So, what can you do?

  1. Keep skin hydrated Keeping your skin hydrated during the summer helps to improve the elasticity of your skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Keeping it hydrated also helps to combat oiliness, so if your skin feels oily its likely due to your dehydrated skin producing more oil to compensate for the lack of moisture.

Allowing your skin to keep hydrated and healthy makes it feel smoother and softer and meaning that it has the moisture to flush away any toxins and carry the right nutrients to the skin cells.

Out of our luxurious skincare range, we have chosen two products that not only help to hydrate your skin but host a whole bunch of other benefits. Firstly is The Toning Solution by choosing to use this product you are getting a hands free option to help hydrate your skin throughout the day when it needs a pick-me-up creating a natural dewy look, coming with a signature rose water fragrance.

By choosing to also use The Facial Oil you can receive a luxurious oil that offers your skin a firmer, dewier appearance. What’s more, it’s 100% natural, FREE of Parabens, Gluten, Artificial Colours and others.

  1. Switch to using a thinner moisturizer By switching to a thinner moisturiser, you are helping to reduce oily skin during the hazy and humid months. You can choose a non-greasy formula based on your skin type. But be sure to look for ingredients like antioxidants like vitamins A and C. If it has SPF, even better.

Every type of weather or environment has an effect on your face, for summer it is the hot weather that can suck the moisture right out of your skin. Did we also mention that by choosing to use a moisturizer you are slowing the signs of aging and helps to fight acne!

The Priming Day Cream SPF 30 fits into this category well as not only is it a moisturizer it is a primer and SPF, the perfect combination for when you are out in the sun! Containing soft-focus technology to lift, brighten and give your skin a flawless finish.

Known for being kind to skin it is suitable for those with sensitive skin and has non-pore blocking technology, which means your skin can breathe without perspiring even when it’s super-hot. The perfect hack for the summer season!

  1. Remember to exfoliate Lastly, exfoliation! By exfoliating during the summer months, you are covering a key process to removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.

So when should we be exfoliating? Well, most experts advise that we exfoliate our skin at least two- or three times per week and that we also exfoliate in the morning, though you can do this at any time of day. Exfoliating during the morning is ideal as your skin would have repaired itself during the morning, meaning all the dead skin cells are waiting to be removed.

What do we suggest? Well firstly The Chemical Peel, why? Well, it can help to transform the appearance of your skin in just four weeks and is an absolute favourite amongst our professionals.

And it’s not surprising with it being super effective on acne-prone skin, with allantoin to soothe and reduce skin irritation, 10% Glycolic Acid to help reveal brighter skin and White Willow Bark Extract to naturally exfoliate and help to clear pores on your skin.

Let us not forget The Facial Oil, that is right I am mentioning it again! This little cracker is clinically proven to improve the firmness, elasticity, and facial contour of the skin with regular use. Containing rosehip seed oil to nourish and rejuvenate your skin whilst also brightening it, sweet white lupin seed extract to increase the elasticity of your skin and by using a combination of Sweet Almond Oil, Baobab Oil, Crambe Oil and Olive Squalane they all work together to help keep your skin well moisturised and fresh.

What is your favourite product to switch out for the summer season? We would love to know them!
